Centre Jeunesse de Montréal - Header

The Centre Jeunesse de Montréal helps troubled youth. The building located at 8147 Sherbrooke East was built in 1932 and was occupied by the San Antonio Institute when they moved there over 70 years ago. The original institution was founded by the Brothers of Charity and their buildings on the Rue Montigny (now de Maisonneuve Blvd) dated in 1868.

Work done

  • Complex Scaffold approved by an engineer in order to avoid damaging the roof
  • Dismantling of pillars and wall facings at the height of the parapet
  • Installation of an air barrier by applying liquid on all wall surfaces affected by the work and the installation of membrane flashings
  • Replacement of lintels with galvanized lintels
  • Restoration of architectural stone with stainless steel rods, epoxy and mortar formulated for the restoration and reconstruction of hewn stone
  • Pointing with lime mortar
  • Installation of Helifix stainless steel anchors
  • Replace all the broken bricks with matching bricks
  • Replacement of wooden frames pilasters with treated wood and new painted steel caps
  • Redo the caulking around windows
  • Cleaning masonry with a special soap

6000 Fielding - Phase 2 - Header

The architecture of the 6000 Fielding Avenue in Montreal is outstanding. The development of building materials within this building demonstrates the commitment to enhance a lasting quality at the time. First occupied by the "Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal," this piece of art of the Borough of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre- Dame-de -Grâce was built in 1961. It was in 1998 that the building became the administrative center of the English-Montreal School Board.

Work done

  • Installation of a specialized type of construction scaffolding
  • Dismantling, numbering and reinstalling 56 architectural stones, each weighing 1800 lbs
  • Repair and reconstruction of 14 architectural stones with bronze rod, epoxy and mortar specially designed for the restoration
  • Reconstruction of calcareous hewn stones
  • Dismantling, moving and reconstruction of a dozen granite slabs weighing more than 1000 lbs
  • Injection by gravity of a natural hydraulic lime grout (St- Astier) to fill the air spaces between the stones and the steel column
  • Pointing stones on the other columns
  • Cleaning with specialized soap for limestone
  • Caulking for granite slabs

Centre d'Hébergement Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci - Header

The building of this construction site began in 1931 and ended in 1932. The hospital was founded by the Ordre des Hospitalier de Saint-Jean-de-Dieu and then specialized for the treatment of long disease duration. A medical school was established there in 1936; it provided courses into the 70’s. The building located at 555 boulevard Gouin Ouest in Montreal is now occupied by the Accommodation Centre Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci.

  • Pointing several sections with lime mortar
  • Replacement of all broken bricks with matching bricks
  • Replaced old with custom made Indiana stone sills
  • Dismantling and reconstruction of brick walls with new stainless steel anchors
  • Installation of Helifix stainless steel anchors on several sections of the building
  • Redo the caulking around windows

CSVT Sacré-Coeur, Sainte-Martine - Header

The Sacré-Coeur Elementary School (Kindergarten to Grade 3) of the Vallée-des-Tisserands School Board is located at 9, Ronaldo-Bélanger, Sainte-Martine. The construction of this building dates from 1940 and has a capacity of 302 students. Its architecture is classic and reflects the history of the construction of "little schools" in Quebec.

Work done

  • Deep pointing of all masonry joints with lime mortar
  • Replacement of all broken bricks with matching bricks
  • Replacement of all steel lintels with galvanized lintels
  • Dismantling bricks and rebuilding sections with new anchors
  • Installation of Helifix stainless steel anchors
  • Cleaning of all oxidation stains on the brickwork with specialized soap
  • Replacement of all windows
  • Insulation work and installing new membranes
  • Caulking of all windows
  • Painting of all classes
  • Epoxy injection in the cracks of the concrete foundation
  • Rehabilitation of earth, grass and asphalt

1011 Saint-Louis - Header

Since the beginning of the British rule, an English-speaking community was established in the Upper Town of Terrebonne. Beginning of September 1840, arrives its first Anglican church; the “St. Michael’s Church”. Located at 1011 rue Saint- Louis in Terrebonne, the church was built in 1895 and is currently occupied by an important architectural firm.

  • Deep pointing with lime mortar
  • Dismantling and reinstallingt bricks with new stainless steel anchors
  • Dismantling of columns to remove deterioration on wood bracings
  • Installation of armed concrete blocks in the columns and reinstalling the same cleaned bricks
  • Installation of Helifix anchors at strategic locations to solidify
  • Deep pointing of a stone foundation area with the appropriate mortar

Valleyfield MDJ Skate Plaza - Header

The Maison Des Jeunes de Valleyfield is located at 42 Anderson Street in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The all-new Skate Plaza Valleyfield is located in the heart of downtown in the Bellerive Park right next to the new Maison Des Jeunes and was inaugurated Wednesday, May 6, 2015. This building is modern and is meant to be a gathering place for youth 12 to 17 years.
